Scope:  Provides therapeutic and recreational activities.  

 

Duties: Under the direction of the professional staff, provides therapeutic activities, musical/recreational activities, and entertainment trips. Performs program support services such as transporting patients, assembling equipment and preparing and maintaining work areas as directed by professional staff. Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment. Helps professional staff demonstrate therapy techniques such as creative arts, games and daily living activities to residents. Maintains and completes any required documents or other related paperwork. May perform some baking and other cooking chores, and attend various in-service trainings and department meetings.  

 

Qualifications:  Trip planning for daily trips, shopping, lunch or just a ride for adults. Use of computer, two-way radios, general office equipment, sewing machine, audio-visual equipment, carpentry tools and kitchen equipment may be required. Medical equipment, wheelchairs and medical instruments are also used.  

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Experience and training in activities and crafts is preferred, or a combination of education and experience.

Housekeeping Aide III-Floor Maintenance, Environmental Services

Scope:  Maintains the floor coverings within the complex.  

 

Duties:  Follows all health and safety regulations, rules and procedures. Strips, waxes floors, burnishes, auto-scrubs floors and corridors. Cleans all carpeted areas. Maintains floor care equipment.  Moves beds and other furniture for cleaning. Moves furniture, beds and other office furniture to storage or other rooms as needed. Sets up rooms for meetings and functions including audio-visual equipment. Replaces light bulbs. Transports trash and waste to disposal areas. Maintains inventory levels and delivers housekeeping supplies and chemicals to aides. Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel and reports any items in need of repair. Monitors inmates working on floor care and runs errands as needed. Assists with laundry functions as needed. Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel.  

 

Qualifications:  Duties require knowledge of floor care and one year of prior experience and/or training.

Scope: Prepares and cooks meals and snacks for residents of the nursing home, jail and employees by performing the following duties.  

 

Duties: Ensures all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures are followed; Prepares and cooks food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served; Ensures meals and/or recipes comply with a wide variety of special dietary requirements; Processes menu changes; Performs cleaning duties as necessary Assists in training new personnel; Performs other related duties as required.  

 

Qualifications: Duties require knowledge of culinary arts equivalent to completion of an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. NRA Certification preferred.

Scope: Cleans rooms and halls for the nursing home.  

 

Duties: Follows all health and safety regulations, rules and procedures. Cleans rooms, offices, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, closets and stairways. Sweeps, dry mops, vacuums and damp mops floors, dusts furniture and appliances, washes walls, ceilings, beds, woodwork, windows, door panels and woodwork. Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area. Refills and secures chemicals, maintains supply list and provides on the job training and orientation for new hires. Assists with laundry functions, reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel, and assigns the daily routine for floating aides.

Corrections Officer, Department of Corrections

Classification Level: Union Positions Entry Level

Starting Rate: $14.90

Hours: 8 ¼ per day, 5 day week, shift work

Hazardous duty: $25.00 per week

Shift Differential: $1.25 per hour on 2nd and 3rd shift

Scope: Correctional Officer is responsible for the care, custody and control of inmate population. Provides a safe environment by enforcing policy and procedures. Good sight, good hearing, walk, climb stairs, the ability to separate inmates when necessary, manual dexterity, ability to communicate verbally and written. Sit, stand, walk, push, pull, bend, reach, grasp, read, follow directions and orders. Also take counts of prisoners. Transporting inmates, serving meals to inmates, participate in block searches. Good interaction skills. Building searches.   

Requirements: Experience preferably in the field of law enforcement or corrections, with an ability to deal effectively with all types of people. Must have a high school diploma or equivalency to qualify for NH Association of Counties “Corrections Officer Academy” Certification. Must be able to pass physical requirements of Group II Retirement Certification. Individuals must possess these knowledge’s, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some of the combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements with or without the aid of mechanical devices to safely perform the essential functions of the job. Must possess a current and valid driver’s license. Good writing skills with the ability to articulate well. Engineering and Maintenance Services Eligibility Listing

Scope: Ensures the safe and efficient operation of the high pressure steam boiler plant operations, all associated heating and mechanical operations and other systems as necessary. Performs duties as needed to ensure the comfort and safety of all residents, staff and visitors at the County Complex.  

 

Duties:  Services, repairs and troubleshoots light and heavy oil fired boilers, low and high pressure boiler support equipment, low and high pressure steam systems, HVAC/R and pneumatic systems. Performs preventive maintenance as required or assigned, of equipment, buildings, and systems. Participates in the annual tear down, cleaning and re-assembly of the boilers. Inspects the plant, records readings and prepares reports as needed. Participates in completion of the plant log to ensure twenty-four hour continuity of information for all shift technicians and for administration. Prepares and submits work orders annotating work performed and materials used during the shift and other reports as requested. Takes readings and prepares chemical solutions as needed for the boiler feed water systems. Responds to fire alarm activations and all other emergency situations at the County Complex. Responds to calls from the facility personnel, exercising practical mechanics in areas including plumbing, steam, electrical, boilers, pumps, compressors, carpentry, lock repair, hospital/nursing homes repairs (e.g., bed rails and nurse’s call stations). Performs regular tours of the complex buildings and grounds, inspecting for safe and proper operations and conditions, affecting repairs and/or reporting findings as needed. Participates in cross training with other divisions within the Engineering & Maintenance Services department; may be required to assist co-workers with their job responsibilities. Provides shift coverage at the Department of Corrections facility. Assists in plowing and shoveling snow and the general maintenance of the buildings and grounds.  

 

Qualifications: Must possess excellent communications skills, both oral and written. The ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, employees at various supervisory levels throughout the County departments and the public are necessary. Working knowledge of and ability to identify the tools, equipment, materials and skills necessary to accomplish the assigned duties. Ability to perform safety and other inspections and to make a sound judgment over which repairs must be affected immediately and/or which require notification is required. Must effectively supervise an inmate workforce with strict adherence to all Inmate Policies, Rules and Regulations as well as Safety Procedures. Safely lift fifty (50) pounds, work while on a ladder, have accurate hand-eye coordination necessary in the operation of equipment, and to crawl under, over and between equipment are part of the performance of duties.    

 

Minimum Qualifications: Must have a working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, pipefitting and carpentry methods and procedures. A High School Education and/or the equivalent. Three to five years experience in industrial and/or commercial maintenance or the equivalent in vocational/technical training plus a minimum of two years demonstrated experience is required. Possession of a valid driver’s license, commercial preferred.
